MAC Cosmetics Viva Glam Lipstick

December 1st was World Aids Day. A day to bring awareness to the disease and what is being done to eradicate it. Although I am a few days late posting, I think it's great to bring awareness to AIDS all year long. This is exactly what MAC cosmetics does and why I have always been so proud to either work for them or refer their products to all my clients. They introduced their Viva Glam lipstick line thirteen years ago in an attempt to raise money and awareness to AIDS and HIV. This is what is posted on their website:

"The M·A·C AIDS Fund, the heart and soul of M·A·C Cosmetics, was established in 1994 to support men, women and children affected by HIV/AIDS globally. The M·A·C AIDS Fund is a pioneer in HIV/AIDS funding, providing financial support to organizations working with underserved regions and populations. As the largest corporate non-pharmaceutical donor in the arena, the Fund strives to raise awareness of four key issues in the fight against HIV/AIDS: prevention, the link between poverty and HIV/AIDS, access to care, and adherence to medications and treatments. To date, the M·A·C AIDS Fund has raised more than $95 million (U.S.) exclusively through the sale of VIVA GLAM lipsticks and lipglass, donating 100 percent of the selling price to the M·A·C AIDS Fund. "

We now know that MAC has surpassed the $95 million and has raised $100 million! It's Incredible!

MAC is able to raise them money through people like you and me who love lipstick. They have six different Viva Glam shades and the entire purchasing price goes straight to their AIDS foundation. Remember this when you are out and about Christmas shopping this year. My personal favorite Viva Glam color is V. It's a beautiful pinky nude and I promise it looks good on everyone!

Go and support a worthy cause. Get yourself a Viva Glam lipstick and pick one up for your BFF for Christmas too!

I love the Viva Glam lipsticks too and also the Viva Glam V lipgloss! It's such a staple in my makeup collection. Do you also know if 100% of the profits from the Viva Glam palettes also goes towards AIDS research?
beyond blushing said…
YES! It actually does. MAC has been so generous with the AIDS foundation! The ENTIRE purchasing cost of any VIVA GLAM product goes straight to charity! I know that in the San Diego region (which is near wear I live) there is a charity called Mamma's Kitchen and it is a charity that helps feed and provide meals to men, women, children and family either living with AIDS or affected by AIDS. From my understanding, this charity got a chunk of money from MAC due to the local monies raised through VIVA GLAM in that region. So if I'm not mistaken, the money that you spend at your local MAC counters also help foundations and Charity's (like Mamma's Kitchen) right in your own region! Incredible! I heart Viva Glam!

He thought I was 24!!!!

I am literally weeks away from turning 30 years old and to tell you the truth….very excited about it. I’m not all caught up in feeling like I’m getting old and all that hoopla. I’ ve always thought I’ ve looked young for my age and have enjoyed growing up and maturing. I was taken aback recently when somebody I see on a regular basis due to work related duties commented on me being the same age as they were after telling me they were 24 years old….I was shocked. I was like, “honey, you’re just a baby!” and he commented back about how we were the same age and I was like, “NO……I’m hitting 30 here!” He was really surprised. Well I thought about this little fortunate exchange of words for a while. What about me make people think I am younger than what I actually am? I’ ve always been on more of the mature side. My best friends are all older than me….even by 8 or more years. So it’s not me acting immature that makes me look young. I’ ve had two kids so I don’t have that cute hip body an...

A "Wrinkle" in Time (pun intended)

First things first. I need to just touch on this span of time that has gone by in a wink of an eye. A span of time that has taught me some valuable life lessons along with some tough love, and thankfully moments of pure joy. A decade. An entire decade. This is the amount of time that has gone by since I first started dabbling in documenting my experiences with cosmetics, skincare, and fragrances! Whoa, geez! So much has happened over the past decade. An experience of broken bone hell (you can read all about it at: diary of my broken ankle hell ), degrees earned (SpEd teaching credential and Masters Degree), careers started (from freelance makeup artist to high school special education RSP teacher), purchased and built a new home, my awesome sassy pants daughter graduated from high school and eventually moved on to study marketing in the beauty industry at FIDM (a girl after my own heart!),  a sweetheart son who recently turned eighteen and is on the verge of graduating high school...

In My Makeup Bag

Okay you all. Hold on tight because I have an awesome product to share with you. It's Matte by MAC Cosmetics . This product is something I've carried in my kit for a couple of years but for some reason it had gotten pushed to the back of my case behind everything else. Kind of like that always great fitting t-shirt that you love and from time to time it gets misplaced or forgotten about but when you find it again and wear it, it feels so right! That is Matte for me in the makeup realm. I was reminded of it today. I was finishing up a consultation that I had with a client and soon to be bride. She looked beautiful. Stunning really! She was perfectly satisfied with her makeup application and felt gorgeous.....but I knew she was missing something. I couldn't put my finger on it at first because of her beautiful blue eyes that were so striking because of the soft smoky plum colors we had applied to her lids and her perfectly pouted peachy glossed lips and her sun-kissed bron...
